Updates can either be carried out online or by postal application.
Online
Online registration update form provides immediate international protection.
The simple step-by-step process means your new content work could be protected within minutes.
Postal applications
For postal applications, you will need to complete the application form F-08, which must be sent along with a full copy of your work and payment.
The form can either be completed online, or downloaded in a PDF format for later printing.
Notes on registration updates
This facility allows you to register a new revision of your work as part of your existing registration. It will provide evidence of date and content of the updated work, whilst still retaining the original registration date and evidence for your existing work.
Your existing registration date, registration duration and expiry date will remain the same. Updates processed using this form are linked with your existing registration. For more information on registration updates, please see our fact sheet P-17: Updating copyright registrations.
Only use the update facility to modify or add to an item already registered. Updates cannot be used to register new and unrelated work. Please use the standard registration facility for any new work.
Prices
Online update fees
The current charge for updates via our online upload facility is £15.00 per work. Uploads over 10MB are also subject to a fee of 2p per additional MB, but there is no limit to the amount of data you may upload within the update.
Postal update fees
The current charge for updates via postal application is £22.00 per work. Formats that involve additional processing will also incur an additional fee to cover the extra time involved in processing these types of works.
